Vocational Expert Testimony
If the claimant's case involves functional problems other than lifting, walking, etc., the Administrative Law Judge may need vocational testimony to determine whether there is a significant number of jobs within the scope of the claimant's limitations.
Vocational experts are supposed to be able to advise the ALJ on issues such as
- how many jobs in the region tolerate a worker who must sit/stand at will,
- how many jobs require fine manual dexterity, or good vision, or an ability to deal with people.
