Social Security Disability: Adult Disabled Child Program

Payments are authorized to the surviving children of retired, deceased, or disabled workers who were eligible to receive Social Security benefits, if the child has a permanent disability that originated before the age of 22.

The child's benefit is 50% of the parent's benefit while the parent is living. Upon the parent's death, the child's benefit is adjusted to 75%.
