Medicaid: Services Optional to States States may offer the following types of optional services if they are specified in the state's approved Medicaid plan: Private duty nursing services Clinic services Dental services Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and treatment for speech, hearing, and language disorders Prescribed drugs, dentures, prosthetic devices, and eyeglasses Other diagnostic, screening, and rehabilitative services Intermediate care facility services Inpatient psychiatric services for person older than 65 or younger than 21 Case management services Home and community based services for frail elderly individuals Community supported living arrangements for persons with mental retardation and related conditions Any other type of care approved by the Secretary of Health & Human Services
